Blacklight Solstice Paint Party

June 20 @ 7:30 pm - 11:00 pm
$45
Collage featuring glowing UV-reactive artwork, neon paint splatter, blacklight murals, and fluorescent hand-painted designs for a Blacklight Solstice Paint Party.

This is absolutely not a follow-along paint class.

There won’t be one painting we’re all trying to copy, no pressure to “do it right,” and no instructor walking around fixing everyone’s trees. This night is about letting loose, making art with your favorite people, and creating simply for the fun of it.

We’re turning the Craft Cottage yard into a glowing Summer Solstice paint party complete with black lights, music, campfires, giant canvas drop cloths spread across the grass, and paint absolutely everywhere.

Each participant will receive two 16×20 canvas panels to create throughout the evening. Some canvases can be placed on easels if needed, but much of the painting will happen right on the ground because this is one of those experiences most people never give themselves permission to have. Here, you can make a giant mess and leave the cleanup to us.

We’ll have washable, non-toxic UV-reactive paints, bright neon colors, big brushes, finger painting, squeeze bottles, splatter painting, and plenty of room to experiment. Paint your canvases, paint yourself, paint your friends (with permission, of course), and enjoy a summer evening filled with color, laughter, and creativity.

Wear clothes you don’t mind getting paint on. White and light-colored clothing will glow beautifully under the black lights, while darker clothing creates a dramatic backdrop for the fluorescent paints. Bringing an old towel for the ride home is also a good idea.

Complimentary campfire snacks and drinks will be available throughout the evening. You’re also welcome to bring your own cooler with your favorite snacks and beverages. Additional blank canvas panels will be available for purchase for anyone who discovers that two paintings simply aren’t enough.

Because shipping to our quiet corner of Grafton takes a little extra time, registration will close one week before the event to allow time to order and prepare materials.

Camping at Riddle Hill Homestead is also available for anyone who would like to turn the evening into a full summer getaway.
