The Grafton Trail of Bears is an LGG-led, town-wide installation designed to create a long-term photo experience throughout Grafton. The project has been officially approved by the Grafton Selectboard, and installation will begin in spring 2026.
Businesses, organizations, and community spaces across Grafton are invited to create and host their own painted bear board as part of the Grafton Trail of Bears. Once installed, a printed trail map will guide visitors from bear to bear, encouraging them to explore the town and discover the many places that make Grafton unique.
Each bear is designed and created by the location hosting it, so every stop along the Trail of Bears in Grafton will have its own personality. Face-in-the-hole designs are encouraged because they create fun photo opportunities, but they are not required.
As more locations join the Grafton Trail of Bears, the trail will continue to grow, creating a fun, town-wide attraction that encourages visitors to explore local businesses, community spaces, and hidden corners of Grafton.
Businesses that would like help creating their bear have several options available through the Craft Cottage studio.
LGG members may use the studio space for DIY builds, guided build sessions, design assistance, or commissioned bears.
